Cosy games for the end of the day
Not every game needs to test your reflexes. Some nights I just want something soft to hold my attention while my brain switches off, and cosy games are perfect for that.
Orchard Keepers is a favourite lately. There's something deeply calming about planning out a season of trees, and the lack of timers means I never feel punished for putting the phone down mid-task.
Lantern Hollow sits in the same slot for me, though it's more of a story than a loop. I ration it out a scene at a time so it lasts. The soundtrack alone earns it a place on this list.
The trick with cosy games is that they still need to be interesting. 'Relaxing' shouldn't mean 'boring.' The good ones give you gentle problems to solve, not just empty busywork.
If your evenings need a wind-down button, start with these two. They ask nothing of you except a little attention.
